SAL members include males of all ages whose parents or grandparents served in the U.S. military and were eligible for American Legion membership. Members of The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of The American Legion comprise the Legion family, which has a combined membership of nearly 4.2 million.

Post Historian Sean Klay, in conjunction with the Journalism Class from Webutuck High School is embarking on collecting the oral histories from local area veterans as part of the Library of Congress 'Veterans History Project'.  We are looking for Veterans to step forward to share their stories so they can be preserved for posterity. Millerton Legion Post 178 of the American Legion Department of New York since 1994 has been providing scholarships of up to $1,000 annually to the youth of our community. The Veterans of our community realize that our commitment to our Nation and our way of life can only be preserved though the education of our youth who are the future of our nation.

Did you know you can rent the Legion Hall for your upcoming party or other special event? Hall Rentals are available for $350.00 per day. A minimum $100.00 reservation fee is required to reserve it for your desired date (which is part of the overall $350.00), with payment in full required no later then 2 weeks prior to your event.
