The American Legion is the nations largest patriotic veterans service organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. Post 178 is committed to continuing our long local tradition of service to our community, state, and nation through a verity of outreach programs, advocating patriotism and honor, and continued service to our fellow service members and veterans.

BY ORDER OF THE POST EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE - Dinner proceeds will now go to benefit young Jacob Stickles who this past week was diagnosed with terminal Neroblastoma, a childhood cancer.

Memorial Day Sunrise Salute - May 28, 2012 @ 6am - Starts at the Legion Home and visits all cemeteries in the Village of Millerton and Town of North East
Memorial Day Parade - May 28, 2012 @ 10am (Line Up at 9:30).
Harlem Valley Rail Ride

The 2012 Harlem Valley Rail Ride will start and finish at the Eddie Collins Field in Millerton, NY.
Routes: (see website) Choose from 25, 50, 75 or 100 mile routes along beautiful, low-traffic country roads, each starting and ending at Eddie Collins Field in Millerton, New York. Within each route, there will be a 4 mile stretch of the car-free Harlem Valley Rail Trail.
Rest Stops: Every 14 miles you’ll find a cheerful oasis! Each rest stop will feature a wide selection of fresh country produce, energy bars and other nourishing snacks. Henceforth, the dictionary definitions of, nutritious, and delicious, will have to be amended, if not wholly rethought.
SAG and Bike Repair: Marshals will follow the groups in cars and on bikes. If you need assistance, call the command center number on your cue sheet, and we will be there right away to help.
Operation Thank You Wounded Warrior III
MANY OF YOU HAVE ASKED! Now Legion Post 178 is pleased to announce that in August 2012 we will be conducting Operation Thank You Wounded Warrior III in conjunction with Maryland based "Helping Hometown Heros" and host a Wounded Warrior BBQ at the Intrepid Sea Air and Space Museum in NYC.
