American Legion Post 178 is set to once again visit Walter Reed Army Medical Center on July 29th and 30th 2011 as part of Operation Thank You Wounded Warrior II, in order to honor those who have been wounded in the Global War on Terror. It has been nearly two years since the citizens of our Tri-State Area gave generously to supporting the first Operation Thank You Wounded Warrior, and the members of Post 178 felt it was time to once again honor our wounded service members.

We will be leaving early on July 29th  from the Legion and traveling by Bus to Washington DC. Our trip will include a visit to Arlington National Cemetery and and a guided tour of the Pentagon in Alexandria VA on July 29th. Our Barbeque and Picnic will with our Wounded Warriors and their families will start at 11am on Saturday July 30th. Following its conclusion we will be returning to New York.

Mission Statement:

“To give a special thanks from the citizens of New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, to our “Wounded Warriors” for their sacrifice in the service of our country; and to enlighten our community to the needs of our servicemen & women and their families.”

Objectives:

·        To deliver health and comfort items to our Wounded Warriors at Walter Read Army Medical Center.

·        To provide a forum for the citizens of our community to say Thank You to our Wounded Warriors and their Families.

·        To provide a “First Class Luncheon” to our Wounded Warriors and Families.

Donations are greatly appreciated. To make a donation, please make checks out to Legion Post 178. Please note in the memo line "Wounded Warrior"
